Katie Houston serves as Director of Internal Audit and reports to the Austin Transit Partnership Board of Directors.
Katie’s extensive auditing experience includes work to improve operations at the State of Texas with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TECQ) and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). Prior to ATP, Katie worked as an Assistant City Auditor with the City of Austin where she improved all aspects of city government by enhancing public transparency and accountability in local government through audit and risk management projects.
She received a B.S. in Accounting from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah, and an MBA from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. Additionally, Katie is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Fraud Examiner.
